Estudio Sur was founded in 1971. It has been working as a prestigious economic consultants firm for leading companies in the last thirty years. It is proud of the clients it works with.

Even though Estudio Sur covers an extensive range of consulting areas, it has developed special know-how in fields related to domestic and foreign commerce. Estudio Sur is one of the countries main consulting firms in the areas which are described in this Site.

The expertise in these particular subjects has been a consequence of the public and private professional career of its Chairman and CEO, Juan Dumas.

Graduated in Economics from the Argentine Catholic University

In Government he held various posts of high responsibility. National Director of Domestic Commerce, Under Secretary of Domestic Commerce, Chief Argentine Negotiator in the GATT, Agricultural Attaché in the Argentine Embassy before the EC, Under Secretary of International Economic Negotiations, Under Secretary of Foreign Commerce.

In the private sector he worked as an economic consultant having founded Estudio Sur. He later became its Chairman and holds that position today. Additionally he has acted as Chairman of Vidriería Argentina S.A. (Pilkington) and Santa Lucía Cristal S.A.

He is Chairman of the Chamber of Production and International Commerce of Footwear and Apparel (CAPCICA) that works in the defence of free trade for this sector.

He is also Chairman of the Argentine Association for English Culture (English Teaching Language Center with over 12.000 students).

He is Chairman of the Club Norysur de Pesca (fly fishing club in Patagonia). This is the oldest club of its kind in the country.

Member of Argentina’s national rugby team the "Pumas" between 1972 and 1974.

Member of Argentina’s national cricket team in 1970.

Present hobbies: fly fishing, tennis and squash.
